Infiniti's Postcard from the Brazilian Grand Prix

Race Report

Infiniti Global Brand Ambassador, Sebastian Vettel, today secured his third consecutive Drivers’ Championship title in Brazil after finishing sixth in a thrilling end-of-season finale in very challenging conditions, joining Formula One’s record books as the youngest driver to achieve this extraordinary feat.  Mark Webber finished fourth and ended the season in sixth place in the Championship. The results today leave Infiniti-partners, Red Bull Racing, as double World Champions again, for the third time in a row, after one of the most closely-fought Formula One seasons in recent years.

Race Report

Infiniti-partners, Red Bull Racing, sealed victory this weekend in the 2012 F1 Constructors’ Championship, their third consecutive title and a truly Inspired Performance. After an incredible qualifying lap, Sebastian secured pole position for his 100th Grand Prix with team mate Mark Webber third on the grid. It proved to be a nail-biting race, with Sebastian finishing on the podium in second place and maintaining a 13-point lead in the Drivers’ Championship, which will now be decided at the last race of the season in Brazil next weekend. Mark’s race ended in an unfortunate retirement after a good start.

Sebastian Vettel began his 100th race weekend with an incredible qualifying performance to finish in pole position for tomorrow's US Grand Prix at the new Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. Team mate Mark Webber was not far behind in 3rd place. Race Report

After his exclusion from Saturday's qualifying session, Sebastian Vettel clearly had a point to prove. This he did in fine style, charging from the back of the grid to an eventual third place podium finish, retaining his lead in the Drivers' Championship. Teammate, Mark Webber, had a race to forget after a great qualifying performance. His race ended after he became unavoidably involved in someone else's accident. Despite this, Red Bull Racing maintain a commanding lead in the Constructors' Championship, and will be hoping to cement victory in Austin in two weeks' time.

After a lengthy deliberation by the stewards at Yas Marina, Sebastian Vettel was excluded from today's qualifying session and will start tomorrow's Grand Prix from the pit lane. Sebastian Vettel's fourth win in a row for Red Bull Racing and Infiniti was all the more special as it means Sebastian has now equalled the legendary Ayrton Senna's record of leading every lap of a race for three consecutive Grands Prix. Mark Webber's excellent third place meant the Team had another double podium to celebrate in India.
